Pharmacy Residency Program
The Elliot Health System in Manchester, New Hampshire offers two PGY-1 residency opportunities: one traditional PGY-1 residency position and one PGY-1 with an ambulatory care focus. The purpose of the PGY-1 pharmacy residency program at the Elliot Health System is to prepare pharmacists with the clinical skill set and confidence necessary to be a clinical pharmacy practitioner. Residents completing this program will be able to pursue any of the following positions: PGY-2 Specialty Residency, Clinical Pharmacist Position, or an Adjunct Faculty Position.
New for 2012 is one PGY-2 residency position in pediatric pharmacy.
In order to provide the best learning environment possible for the resident, the Elliot Health System pharmacy department will ensure that:
1. There are adequate pharmacist role models for residents who practice routinely in the area for which they precept.
2. Preceptors have committed themselves to teaching the resident using direct instruction, modeling, coaching and facilitating.
3. An adequate practice model environment exists for the learning experience.
Elliot Hospital is a 296-bed acute care facility located in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Elliot Hospital offers a Pharmacy Practice Residency. The program is accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. The program is affiliated with Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (MCP) in Manchester.
