Meet Our Residents

Amanda Downing, Pharm.D.
Amanda Downing graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, Kingston, RI in 2011.  Here she developed a passion for direct patient care and collaborative practice. She is currently a PGY-1 Pharmacist Resident with Ambulatory Care focus at Elliot Health System. Her professional interests include: vaccinations, anticoagulation and chronic disease state management.  During her residency, she will complete a research project evaluating the efficacy of a pharmacist driven warfarin dosing protocol for in-patients. She will also complete the Residency Teaching Certificate Program through University of New England, Portland, ME and precept pharmacy students to assist her in her goal of becoming adjunct faculty at a pharmacy school and sharing her love of the profession with future pharmacy students. She also aspires to become a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends, going to the gym and baking.

Michelle Andrade, Pharm.D.
Michelle Andrade is a PGY-1 Pharmacist Resident at Elliot Hospital. She graduated with honors from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Boston, MA with a Doctorate of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Her professional interests include:  critical care, pediatrics, and antimicrobial stewardship. During her residency, she will complete the Residency Teaching Certificate Program through University of New England, Portland, ME and a research project evaluating glucocorticoid administration in septic shock patients. Upon completion of her PGY-1 residency, Michelle has professional goals to become a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and to pursue a career in pediatric critical care.
