Exercise Mibi Stress Test. |
OVERVIEW
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW? This test lasts about 2-3 hours.
Patient Preparation You may have 8 oz of water, 3 hours prior to the test. You may be instructed to decrease or stop certain medications prior to the exam. Please call you doctor or call the cardiology nursing staff at 663-2597 with any questions you may have. Please bring a list of the medications you take. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for this exam.
The Scan 1.The nurses will explain the procedure to the patient. An I.V. will be placed in the arm for the injections. The nuclear technologist conducts the first Mibi injection. The first set of pictures is completed after 30-60 minutes. 2. The exercise portion of the test is performed with the cardiologist present. EKG patches will be placed on the patient’s chest. 3. A second Mibi injection is done. After the exercise portion of the test is completed, a second set of images in is completed. The Cardiologist will send a report to the patient’s doctor.
