Important Notice:  Elliot On-Call after hours nurse triage services are changing.  After August 22, 2011 our Triage Nurses will be available to assist you with your health concerns during the following hours:  Weekdays until 10 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm and Sundays 8 am to 3 pm.  If you need to speak with a nurse or doctor outside of these hours, or when the office is closed, please call this office.  The on-call doctor will return your call to assist you with your urgent healthcare concerns.

Michael Kaczanowski, MD

Dr. Kaczanowski is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Gastroenterology.  Prior to joining Elliot Health System, he practiced with NH Gastroenterology, Inc., Bedford, New Hampshire and has served the greater Manchester community for the past two years.  He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada and completed his residency at Norwalk Hospital, Yale University teaching affiliate, Norwalk, Connecticut.  Here he held the position of Chief Medical Resident and obtained a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.  Dr. Kaczanowski has published on the use of wireless capsule endoscopy for diagnosis of small bowel neoplasms and his area of special interest is in the detection of colon cancer, esophageal disease and swallowing disorders.

Yuki Igari, MD

Dr. Igari is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  Prior to joining Elliot Health System, she practiced with NH Gastroenterology, Inc., Bedford, New Hampshire and has served the needs of the greater Manchester Community since 2002.  She received her medical degree from Fukushima Medical College, Fukushima-shi, Japan.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Igari obtained her Fellowship in Gastroenterology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas.  Her clinical interests include; the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and the long term management of inflammatory bowel disease.

Aydamir Alrakawi, MD

Dr. Alrakawi is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Elliot Health System, he practiced at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Manchester, New Hampshire and has served the needs of the community for the past ten years. Dr. Alrakawi received his medical degree from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine, Damascus, Syria and completed his residency at Fairview Health System, Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He obtained his Fellowship in Gastroenterology from Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and an Advanced Fellowship in Therapeutic ERCP at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His clinical interests include: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS), Fine needle aspiration (FNA), Capsule Endoscopy, and Esophageal Motility.

Sharon Barker, APRN

Sharon Barker, APRN has been Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 1998 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Master of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. Sharon began her career as a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1982 from Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of New Hampshire in 1995.

Prior to completing her education as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she had twelve years of experience in the ICU at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.  Sharon has enjoyed being a preceptor for many Nurse Practitioner students from various local colleges over the years. Her past employment as a Nurse Practitioner includes: Urgent Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine as well as six years of Gastroenterology experience with a southern NH private practice. It was her love for this specialty that brought her to Elliot Gastroenterology in February of 2012.

Electronic Medical Records System

Utilizing our state of the art Electronic Medical Record System, each physician has complete patient data (immunizations, allergies, Lab results, etc.) at their fingertips to enable them to monitor your health needs more closely. If you call after hours, all physicians “on-call” can access this same information, thus providing excellent, all-inclusive care for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This versatile Medical Record System also enables our office to electronically transmit prescriptions and refills directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

In addition, our office also has the facilities to take and process X-Rays and to draw most lab work right on site, offering our patients convenient and efficient health care.
