Carl M. Fier M.D., F.S.C.A.I. |
| Elliot Cardiovascular Consultants | |
|
Carl M. Fier M.D., F.S.C.A.I. completed medical school in New York City at The Mount Sinai Medical Center where his interest in cardiology began early and progressed to the point where he decided to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine in order to become a cardiologist. After his year as chief resident, he became a fellow in cardiovascular disease and continued to focus his research and clinical interest in cardiac and vascular disease. After his first year of fellowship, he pursued a career in interventional cardiology and vascular intervention. This was an opportunity to combine his love of the personal, long- term nature of ongoing patient care with the excitement and "surgical" nature of cardiac and endovascular procedures. Currently, he is the Chief of the Medical Staff for Elliot Hospital and practices both general and interventional cardiology. Dr. Fier has developed a burgeoning practice in vascular medicine and endovascular intervention and enjoys the opportunity to develop personal relationships with his patients while being able to offer them the latest, state-of-the-art techniques to restore blood flow in blocked arteries without the need for open, invasive surgery. This means that patients are often able to have their procedures and leave the hospital on the same day without the need for a prolonged hospital stay and recovery period. |
