Important Notice:  Elliot On-Call after hours nurse triage services are changing.  After August 22, 2011 our Triage Nurses will be available to assist you with your health concerns during the following hours:  Weekdays until 10 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm and Sundays 8 am to 3 pm.  If you need to speak with a nurse or doctor outside of these hours, or when the office is closed, please call this office.  The on-call doctor will return your call to assist you with your urgent healthcare concerns.

Electronic Medical Records System

Utilizing our state of the art Electronic Medical Record System, each physician has complete patient data (immunizations, allergies, Lab results, etc.) at their fingertips to enable them to monitor your health needs more closely. If you call after hours, all physicians “on-call” can access this same information, thus providing excellent, all-inclusive care for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This versatile Medical Record System also enables our office to electronically transmit prescriptions and refills directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

In addition, our office also has the facilities to take and process X-Rays and to draw most lab work right on site, offering our patients convenient and efficient health care.

Lawrence M. Hoepp, MD, FACS has over 30 years experience as a General, Vascular and Thoracic Surgeon and is ABMS Board Certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.  He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a member of the New England Surgical Society, New England Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Vascular Surgery and Eastern Vascular Society.

After receiving his Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, he completed his residency in Surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Dr. Hoepp formed and practiced at General Surgical Specialists of New England from 1978 to 2008 at which time he joined Elliot General Surgical Specialists. He continues to serve as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Elliot Hospital, a position which he has held since 1994.

He has received many honors over the years including: the “Key to the City of Manchester” from Mayor Frank Guinta, the Elliot Hospital’s William S. Green Award for Excellence 2007 and a commendation from New Hampshire Governor John Lynch for his pioneering works in Vascular Surgery. For the past several years, Dr. Hoepp has been voted by his physician peers as “top doc” in the General Surgery and Vascular Surgery category in the New Hampshire Magazine Survey.

Dr. Hoepp specializes in all aspects of General Surgery including minimally invasive techniques and Endocrine Surgery. His vascular experience includes: Open and Endovascular, Arterial and Venous Surgery. He also has one of the largest experiences in NH in Aortic Aneurysm Stent Grafts. His thoracic experience dates back to 1978 and includes Non-Cardiac Thoracic Surgery and minimally invasive Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS).



Curtis J. Kloc MD, FACS

Curtis J. Kloc, MD, FACS is American Board Certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After receiving his undergraduate degree at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, he returned to his hometown of Morgantown, WV and earned his Medical Degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. After residency Dr. Kloc practiced General Surgery in rural southern Maine for six years. Prior to joining Elliot Hospital he practiced at General Surgical Specialists of New England in Manchester.

Dr. Kloc enjoys all aspects of General Surgery including GI, Venus, Wound Care, Acute Care/Emergency and Trauma, and Advanced Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, including Endoscopy and Colonoscopy.



Esthia K Giakovis-Sterling, MD, FACS

Esthia K. Giakovis-Sterling, MD, FACS is American Board Certified in General Surgery. She is a member of the Society of Breast Surgeons, The Association of Women Surgeons, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Giakovis received her Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency in General Surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael, Yale University Affiliate, in New Haven, CT.

She practiced in Manchester, NH for many years before joining Elliot General Surgical Specialists where she specializes in all aspects of General Surgery, including Laparoscopic, minimally invasive surgery, Breast Surgery and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy.
Dr. Giakovis is fluent in Greek.



 

Thomas Meads, MD

Thomas Meads MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He attained his Medical Degree from Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin Ireland, Dublin Medical School and completed his residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, MA. Dr. Meads has over ten years of experience and has been in private practice in New Hampshire since 2003. He joined Elliot General Surgical Specialists in July of 2008. Dr. Meads specializes in all aspects of General Surgery to include minimally invasive surgery.


William R Wilson, MD, FACS, FAAP

William R. Wilson, MD, FACS, FAAP has over 20 years experience as a Thoracic and Vascular Specialist. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Upon receiving his Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, he completed residencies in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery from the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and the University Hospital of Cleveland at Case Western Reserve University. Then he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery.

He joins Elliot General Surgical Specialists from the Medical Center of South Arkansas where he served as Director of Cardiovascular Surgery for the past three years.

Dr. Wilson specializes in diseases of the chest and vascular system that require surgery, such as Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Stenosis, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Mediastinal Disease, Lung Cancer and Trauma.


Miguel M Gaeta, MD

Miguel M. Gaeta, MD recently joined the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care (TESSCC) at the Massachusetts General Hospital in a joint effort with Elliot General Surgical Specialists to continue their efforts and build upon the excellent Trauma and Emergency Surgical Care already offered to patients at Elliot.

Dr. Gaeta received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Riverside and his Medical Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and General Surgical Residency at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Dr. Gaeta is board certified in General Surgery.


Daiying Lu, MD

Daiying Lu, MD is American Board Certified in General Surgery. He received a Bachelor of Arts and Medical Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and completed the General Surgery Residency Program at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, MA.

Dr. Lu enjoys all areas of General Surgery, including Laparoscopy, Endocrine, Colorectal, Acute Care and Trauma. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in Spanish.

Sanda Popa, PA-C is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Sanda graduated from Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2003.

Sanda had been employed by General Surgical Specialists of New England from 2003 to March 2008 at which time she became an employee of Elliot General Surgical Specialists.

She is fluent in Romanian.


Holly Desrosiers, PA-C

Holly Desrosiers, PA-C is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Anthropology from Northeastern University in 2002 and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Northeastern University in 2005.

Holly was employed as a Surgical Physician Assistant at General Surgical Specialists of New England from the spring of 2006 to March 2008 at which time she became an employee of Elliot General Surgical Specialists.

Lisa joined the Elliot General Surgical Specialists team in October of 2008.

Liz obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Gerontology from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA in 2002 and in 2004 earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY.

Liz joined Elliot General Surgical Specialists in April of 2009.

Allison Kalil, PA-C is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She completed a dual degree program at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2004 and a Master of Science, Physician Assistant Program in 2006. Allison joined the Elliot General Surgical Specialists team in February 2011.


Prior to joining Elliot General Surgical Specialists Allison was employed as a physician assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital .
