The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed designated receiving facility (DRF) for the state of NH. It offers a well-trained multidisciplinary staff and a full array of inpatient services designed to stabilize patients in crisis. These services include individual, group, couples, and family assessments and therapies. PICU provides care to patients with acute psychiatric illness from age 18 to 65. The unit specializes in, but is not limited to, the care of psychiatric patients with mood, anxiety or thought disorders.
