Visiting Nurse Association Parent-Baby Adventure Program

The VNA Parent-Baby Adventure Program, serving the Greater Manchester area, provides group parenting education and support to young parents with newborns, infants and older children. The group utilizes modeling, education and support to teach parents how to care for their child. It also helps them gain skills and motivation to meet physical, emotional and psychological needs of parenting.

The program is offered to parents in a comfortable “home-like” setting, where staff demonstrate appropriate behavior for “successful parents and healthy babies.”

Through the VNA Parent-Baby Adventure Program, parents learn the importance of forming a strong bond with their baby and developing effective parenting skills. The Parent-Baby Adventure staff includes experienced and caring professionals in areas of parent-child health nursing, social work and health education.

    VNA Parent-Baby Success Story

A success story: “ Having had my first child at the age of 19 (in 1994), I was referred to the VNA Parent-Baby program. With my enthusiasm and willingness to learn, and the staff's warm, caring and understanding personalities, I have overcome many obstacles. I have learned all my parenting skills from the program. The program is greatly needed and very appreciated. Thank you.”
