Pediatric Inpatient Care

Pediatric Inpatient Care

From a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), managed by board certified neonatologists, to a dedicated 21-bed Pediatric/Adolescent Unit with central monitoring capabilities, and a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room, kids are given expert care here. We deliver evidence-based inpatient services provided by board-certified pediatric attending physicians who are available 24/7 to care for your child.

Caring for Children of All Ages

Elliot Pediatric and Adolescent Unit is a 21-bed unit, which includes 15 private and three semi-private rooms serving nearly 1,600 children each year. Children and their families receive expert pediatric and adolescent care by our healthcare professionals, who are specialized in caring for pediatric and adolescent patients.

In addition to medical and surgical services, we offer intermediate care services for certain diagnoses, to keep critically ill children closer to home. Family-centered rounds take place every day, to ensure that parents and guardians are fully informed and involved in their child’s treatment and care. Your team may consist of physicians, nurses, child life specialists, music therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, and respiratory therapists. Our team understands that having a hospitalized child can be a very stressful time. This is why children and families are at the center of all the care and treatment provided on our Pediatric and Adolescent Unit. Through shared decision making and supportive care, we hope to make this process as comfortable as it can be for your child and family.

How can I help my child be prepared for their visit to the hospital?

We recognize that, as a parent, you know your child best. When children know what to expect, they are able to cope positively with a new or stressful experience. Here are some of our resources that we find helpful when working with children.

The following materials can help prepare you and your child for their visit to the hospital.
