Deaf and Hard of Hearing

To ensure effective communication with patients and their companions who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, Elliot Health System provides the following auxiliary aids and services free of charge, which includes: sign language and oral interpreters, video remote interpreter services, TTYs, videophones, telephone handset amplifiers, telephones compatible with hearing aids, large button telephones, assistive listening devices, closed caption televisions, baby cry signalers, door signalers and written materials. Public videophones, TTYs and large button phones are located in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care waiting areas. Upon your arrival at the Elliot, please ask staff for assistance or contact Kimberlee Pelkey, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program Administrator at 663-2780 (voice/TTY) or 546-7882 (Videophone).
