American College of Surgeons/ Commission on Cancer (COC)

The Elliot Regional Cancer Center maintains accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (COC) through 2008. The Commission on Cancer, a program of the American College of Surgeons, evaluates the entire scope of the Elliot Hospital organization, and the activity of the cancer program. The accreditation benefits the staff at the Elliot Hospital, and most importantly, the patients we serve. The comprehensive program offers quality of care close to home with a multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatments options. Maintaining COC approval is a voluntary commitment by Elliot Hospital to ensure that patients will have access to a full scope of cancer services required to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and support patients with cancer and their families. Continuous evaluation of the cancer program's performance reaffirms the commitment of the Elliot Hospital cancer program to providing quality cancer care.
