Within the Elliot Hospital Associates, the circle of giving starts with funds that the organization raises every year. There are a variety of programs, services, activities and events that all together result in funds that are then used to support the mission of the Elliot Health System.
Did you know that…….
The Associates also host various fundraisers that you see in the main lobby and by the hospital cafeteria. Recent events you may have seen include Mother’s and Father’s Day raffles, toy sales, scrub clothing sales, and select food events.
The dollars raised by all of these events are re-invested in the Elliot Health System programs and services. Examples of the gifts made in 2017 include such items as a phototherapy light to treat babies in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a bone density scan machine for Radiology, and a AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The Associates also extended their support a second year to the purchase of a swaddler for each baby born at the Elliot Hospital.
This promotes the importance of safe sleep position and sleep location for all babies!
Also in 2017, the Associates awarded five $1000 health education scholarships to staff of the Elliot. These five were selected from 13 submissions for these scholarships. The units in which these five work include the Emergency Department, the CICU, Pain Management, Occupational Health and the Memory/Mobility Program. That are an impressive group of professionals enhancing their education in health care fields!
So when you think about that cup of coffee, scrub gown purchase, or gift shop purchase, know that your support like this is vital to the Elliot to enhance it’s care of patients.
This is the circle of giving.
Thank-you for all that you do!
