Elliot Health System Awarded Bond Rating Upgrade by Moody’s Ratings

Elliot Health System has been issued a bond rating upgrade by Moody’s Investors Service (Moody’s Ratings), announcing on Nov. 5 an upgraded rating for the system from A3 to A2. The notable achievement affirms our health system’s position as a leader in care delivery in New Hampshire and the organization’s strength in reputation and legacy in clinical performance while advancing key clinical programs and services.

Moody’s is a recognized credit rating business, providing financial research to help illustrate an organization’s financial well-being. The upgrade to an A2 accurately reflects the significant recent and ongoing accomplishments of the expertise of the systems’ care teams combined with its well-known clinical delivery.

“In today’s healthcare environment, a credit rating is an important measure of an organization’s strength. This notable achievement is reflective of Moody’s confidence in our entire Elliot Health System team to continue to deliver on incredibly strong and sustained performance,” said Michael Turilli, senior vice president of Finance and CFO of Elliot Health System. “The upgrade to an A2 accurately supports our organization’s strength in reputation and legacy in clinical excellence. It further highlights and is a direct reflection of the incredible work of our teams, their commitment to excellence, financial discipline, and our expectations of exceptional care delivery standards.”

The system recently made significant advancements to specific clinical programs, including cardiac, cardiothoracic, and vascular care, maternal care backed by a Level III NICU, and comprehensive neurology, neurosurgical, and spine care.

“This accomplishment emphasizes our continued financial and operating performance in a heavily sought market. Pending the disaffiliation from SolutionHealth as directed by our respective boards, it establishes our ability to focus on our strategic investments as a distinct campus and Elliot Health System to better serve our mission going forward,” said Dr. Greg Baxter, president and CEO of Elliot Health System. “It acknowledges the presence of our brand and position across our market and service area to better meet the needs of our patients in New Hampshire in a constantly changing healthcare industry.”

Elliot Health System recently earned the top spot as a Best-In-State healthcare employer and top New Hampshire-based company by Forbes. To learn more about Elliot’s commitment to continued growth and community presence, visit Elliot Health System.
