Elliot Health System Awarded Bond Rating Upgrade By Standard & Poor’s
Elliot Health System has received a bond rating upgrade from A- to A by Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings (Standard & Poor’s Ratings), announced on Oct. 2. The notable achievement comes just under a year after the health system received a bond rating upgrade to an A2 by Moody’s Ratings. It affirms the health system’s position as a regional leader in healthcare delivery in a competitive New England market and industry environment. It reflects Standard & Poor’s confidence in Elliot Health System and its teams to consistently deliver strong and sustained operating performance.
“In today’s competitive healthcare environment, a credit rating is an integral measure of an organization’s strength. This significant financial achievement for our health system supports the health system’s reputation and strategic position across New Hampshire, as well as our ability to consistently execute,” said Michael Turilli, senior vice president of Finance and CFO of Elliot Health System. “The upgrade to an A rating accurately supports our organization’s positive reputation and is a direct reflection of the incredible work of our teams, their commitment to excellence, financial discipline, and exceptional care delivery standards.”
The system continues to make significant advancements to specific clinical programs to better meet rising patient demand, including cardiovascular and open-heart surgery care, maternal care backed by a Level III NICU, orthopedic care, urological, including urogynecology care, and space expansions to accommodate increased capacity for ambulatory surgical services and complex, hospital-based cardiovascular care.
“This accomplishment emphasizes our consistent positive operating performance in a competitive New England and New Hampshire market. Pending the disaffiliation from SolutionHealth as directed by our respective boards, it underscores our focus on our strategic investments as Elliot Health System to integrate more accessible options for all we serve and enhance our mission going forward,” said Dr. Greg Baxter, president and CEO of Elliot Health System. “It acknowledges the increased strength of our brand across our service regions to better meet the needs of our New Hampshire-based populations and beyond in a constantly changing healthcare industry.”
Elliot Health System recently earned the 2026 top spot as a Best-In-State healthcare employer and top New Hampshire-based company by Forbes for a second consecutive year. To learn more about Elliot’s commitment to continued growth and community presence, visit Elliot Health System.
