Elliot Health System Leaders Conduct Roundtable Discussion Alongside U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan

Elliot Health System senior leaders were recently invited to a roundtable discussion with U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan. The discussion centered around the ongoing challenges of rising health care costs and the need for more accessible care across our community and the regions we serve. The group outlined current trends such as an increasing level of illness and more complex conditions being seen in Emergency Departments, changes in the types of patients we are seeing in New Hampshire, and the importance of expanding essential services such as Primary Care, along with other important entry services such as urgent and virtual care, across our regions and state. Senator Hassan and her colleagues are moving efforts forward to reduce reliance on emergency care for non-acute needs, improve continuity for patients with multiple and ongoing care needs, and also ensure they can access timely, more affordable health services.

As a leading health system in New Hampshire, we appreciated the opportunity to share our thoughts and concerns with Senator Hassan to support accessible care across the communities we serve. We are committed to meeting the evolving needs of our communities and improving health outcomes.
