Kathi DeGregorio named Elliot Health System's 2025 Nurse Practitioner of the Year

Elliot Health System is pleased to announce Kathleen (Kathi) DeGregorio, APRN, of Elliot Hospitalist & Palliative Care, as 2025 Nurse Practitioner of the Year!

Kathi was nominated by her peers for her exceptional professionalism, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. Her colleagues shared, “She takes the time—without hesitation or rush—to ensure that patients and their loved ones fully understand their options, feel supported, and are prepared for the next steps in their care journey.”

Serving in both the Hospitalist Service and Palliative Care, Kathi seamlessly balances dual roles with grace and purpose. Her nominators describe her as calm, positive, and steady — qualities that foster collaboration and elevate care. “When we share a patient with her,” one colleague noted, “we know Kathi will care for the whole person, just as we would want a family member to be cared for.”

Kathi’s impact goes beyond the bedside. She actively advocates for patient safety and recently led efforts to improve discharge medication processes, helping reduce errors and enhance continuity of care.
