Radiation oncology is the treatment of cancer through high-energy radiation (like x-rays or gamma rays). Many cancers require a combination of surgical oncology, medical oncology, and radiation oncology.
At the Elliot Regional Cancer Center, our radiation oncologists work closely with colleagues from Mass General Cancer Center at both our Manchester and Londonderry location and partner with the Radiation Center of Greater Nashua. They use state-of-the-art radiation therapy to shrink tumors or kill cancer cells. We utilize the latest in technology, including the TruBeam© Linear Accelerator (used at our Manchester location) to target your cancer and treat it with precise radiation beams. In some cases, radioactive seeds implanted in the body can be used to target cancer cells.
The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. Our facility and staff have gone through a comprehensive review to earn accreditation status by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the largest and oldest imaging accrediting body in the United States.
