As part of the Elliot Heart and Vascular Center and the broader Elliot Health System, we seamlessly coordinate care across specialties, so patients receive the most comprehensive and connected heart care in southern New Hampshire.
This is the most common type of heart bypass surgery. It restores blood flow to the heart muscle by using a healthy artery or vein to bypass a blocked coronary artery. Most CABG procedures are considered open heart surgery, though some can be performed using less invasive methods.
Surgery to fix or replace a damaged heart valve (usually the aortic or mitral valve) to help the heart pump blood more effectively. Replacements can be mechanical or made from human or animal tissue.
This surgery repairs a weakened and bulging section of the aorta - the large artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body - before it can rupture.
Used to correct abnormal heart rhythms, this surgery involves creating a pattern of scar tissue in the heart to block erratic electrical signals and restore a normal heartbeat.
The surgical removal of part or all of the pericardium, the sac surrounding the heart, often done to relieve constrictive pericarditis or prevent fluid buildup around the heart.
