I have an OB-GYN exam every year. Do I also need a physical from my family doctor?
Yes, family doctors are trained to evaluate all aspects of your preventive healthcare needs, including ensuring that you are up-to-date with recommended immunizations, monitoring your risk factors for heart disease or cancer, checking your skin for suspicious moles, and more. Your family doctor can also provide routine gynecologic care, such as Pap smears and related exams, if you so choose.

Do you draw blood for lab testing at your office or do I have to go somewhere else for this?
We do provide services for lab testing within our office. You also have the option of choosing several Elliot Lab satellite locations. Your results will be reviewed as soon as received by your physician. You should receive your results within two weeks by mail. If after that time your have not received these results, please contact our office.

How do I obtain a prescription refill?
Please call our office to obtain a prescription refill. A staff member will take all the necessary refill information, including the pharmacy you would like your refill order sent. After your information is received, it will be sent electronically to your PCP to review and order. Once reviewed and approved, staff will electronically transmit the refill notification to your pharmacy. This process usually requires 24-48 hours from the time of your initial call. How quickly your pharmacy fills the prescription depends on their refill policy and staffing. If you need a mail away prescription, please make sure that you contact us 2 weeks prior to running out to allow time for your request to be entered and your prescription returned.

Is there anyone available for questions or emergencies after hours?
Yes, should you have a medical need, simply contact our office to be connected to a qualified trained nurse who will assess your medical need. A physician will be available for you when needed. We have implemented a state of the art Electronic Medical Record System that enhances the quality of care we are able to provide. Each physician has the ability to review your complete medical history to meet your medical needs.

Who will I see if I am hospitalized or my child is hospitalized?
Pediatric patients will be followed by either their own primary care physician or by one of the other family practice physicians.

Adults may be followed by one of the Elliot family practice physicians or by the Elliot Hospitalist Service. The Hospitalist service is composed of Board Certified Internal Medicine specialists who work closely with your primary care physician to provide the highest standard of care. The Hospitalist service can often provide superior care when minute-to-minute decisions need to be made regarding patient care. In case of a hospital admission, your physician will determine which service is more suitable. This decision is often made on a case-by-case basis. In regards to admission decisions, you are welcome to discuss your preferences or concerns with your primary care physician.
