A home sleep test involves a breathing monitor that tracks your breathing, oxygen levels, and breathing effort.

Polysomnography (PSG), more commonly known as a sleep study, is the gold standard for diagnosing sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and narcolepsy. To perform the test, electrodes are placed on the scalp, the outer edge of the eyelids, and the skin on the chin.

If the patient requires in-laboratory testing as part of their evaluation, a sleep study is scheduled. Sleep studies require spending one night in our state-of-the-art sleep laboratory, which is equipped with the most advanced equipment in the field. While you sleep, an experienced sleep technologist records information about your sleep. During the test, continuous recordings are made of brain waves, heartbeat, movements, breathing, and blood oxygen. These procedures are noninvasive and cause no discomfort.
