opportunities supported by The Elliot Pharmacy Department.

The Elliot Pharmacy Department offers extensive professional growth and advancement opportunities. The department boasts a team of pharmacists with specialty certifications in areas such as pharmacotherapy, oncology, critical care, and pediatrics. They also offer a Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship in partnership with Manchester Community College, combining classroom learning and on-the-job training, leading to full-time positions.

Our team is comprised of pharmacists with specialty certifications in pharmacotherapy, oncology, critical care, and pediatrics.

Through a partnership with Manchester Community College, individuals looking to become nationally certified pharmacy technicians receive a combination of 6-weeks classroom and on-the-job training, ultimately leading to a full-time position with The Elliot Pharmacy Department.

With training, staff can progress to additional skill levels including: 

  • Technician I: medication filling, supply management
  • Technician II: sterile compounding
  • Technician III: specialty in hazardous compounding, sterile compounding lead, or automation optimization

Elliot Health System sponsors a variety of continuing education programs each year on-site for pharmacists and technicians.

Each new pharmacist and technician receives structured training with mentors and peers, typically lasting about 6 weeks, before beginning to work independently.
