Sharon Barker, APRN has been Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 1998 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Master of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. Sharon began her career as a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1982 from Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of New Hampshire in 1995.
Prior to completing her education as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she had twelve years of experience in the ICU at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. Sharon has enjoyed being a preceptor for many Nurse Practitioner students from various local colleges over the years. Her past employment as a Nurse Practitioner includes: Urgent Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine as well as six years of Gastroenterology experience with a southern NH private practice. It was her love for this specialty that brought her to Elliot Gastroenterology in February of 2012.
