Vestibular Rehabilitation Program

The Elliot Rehabilitation Services has a team of highly trained therapists in the management of disorders involving the vestibular system or inner ear. The vestibular system is a sensory system, with organs in both inner ears, that communicates information to the brain about position and movement of the head relative to gravity.
 

Common Symptoms We Treat

Because the vestibular system interacts closely with other sensory and nervous systems, you may have a variety of symptoms such as:

  • Vertigo or dizziness
  • Headaches and neck pain
  • Motion sensitivity
  • Nausea
  • Increased sensitivity to lights or noise
  • Visual difficulties
  • Balance difficulties or disequilibrium

Our Approach

After a thorough assessment, our therapists will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan utilizing standard evidence-based practices to maximize your outcome. Vestibular rehabilitation therapy may include:

  • Canalith Repositioning Treatment/Epley Maneuver
  • Balance retraining/fall prevention
  • Habituation Exercises
  • Gaze (visual) Stabilization Exercises
