Elliot Hospital Surgeon Sheds Light on Potentially Serious Condition


Dr. Elena Rinehardt, a board-certified vascular surgeon at the Elliot Hospital joins the podcast to discuss Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. TOC is a condition in which the space between the collarbone and first rib are compressed causing a variety of symptoms including shoulder and neck pain as well as numbness in the fingers. TOC may be the result of an anatomical irregularity, physical trauma (such as a car accident), pregnancy, or repetitive injuries from sports or work. The Elliot Provides New Equipment to Manchester Fire Department to Expand Advanced Life Support


Delivering on its mission to care for our community, The Elliot is proud to help expand advanced life support capabilities for Manchester Fire Department with a donation of a Physio-Control LifePak 15 cardiac monitor/defibrillator. The equipment will be made available on Engine Company 3, which is often located in the south part of Manchester and is furthest away from acute care centers. Elliot 1-Day Surgery is First Ambulatory Surgery Center in NH to Offer Robotic-Assisted Surgery With Da Vinci Technology


Elliot 1-Day Surgery is the first Ambulatory Surgery Center in New Hampshire to offer robotic-assisted surgery with a da Vinci surgical robot. The technology will be used for general, gynecological, and urological procedures, and it is in addition to their current total joint MAKO robotic system. Robotic-assisted surgery expands options for patients who need minimally invasive surgery and are able to return home the same day. The Elliot Honors Derry and Auburn EMS Teams for Response to Patient's 9-1-1 Call for Life-Saving Help


Elliot Health System recognized Emergency Medical Services members of Derry Fire Department and Auburn Fire Department who saved the life of Peggy Bolduc, Auburn resident, after a 9-1-1 call for help. The responders stabilized and transported her to The Elliot where Emergency Department providers were able to identify a cause and facilitate treatment with the cardiology team. Lise Veilleux Shares How Lung Cancer Screenings Saved Her Life


For Lise Veilleux, her experience with smoking started when she was 15 years old. Now, at 59 years old and having survived lung cancer, she says she is incredibly grateful for the care she has received from The Elliot.

“Over time, I started to have difficulty breathing. I have COPD, and I was concerned that something else might be happening in my lungs. In 2018, I ended up in the hospital because my breathing was labored. Scans showed that I had nodules in both lungs – the question was if they were cancerous. I started antibiotics and most of the nodules were gone within a month. But one nodule on each lung remained. I knew it was likely much more serious,” said Veilleux. Read More...

High Tea Returns for Cancer Survivors


Theresa “Terry” Steiner, practice manager of the Elliot Breast Health Center, says she envisioned the High Tea breast cancer survivorship event on a whim in 2009.

For the next several years, the event steadily grew in size – hosting 250 for dinner at its peak in 2018. In 2019, Steiner says, they decided to make it smaller and more personal for survivors and began celebrating with a High Tea Event. Read More...




Sandy McAndrews’ Story of Survival and Hope


To this day, Sandy McAndrews of New Hampton, NH, still has a hard time believing that she had cancer. Starting as a teenager, she lived a clean and healthy life. She competed in heavy weightlifting contests, made sure she did six hours of cardio every week and at least two hours of weightlifting a day. She had a healthy diet, never smoked, or did drugs. Poulin Family Healthy and Safe After Care from Elliot Hospital


July 6, 2022 - Breanne “Bree” Poulin didn’t even know what a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) was until she had to be sent by ambulance to southern New Hampshire’s only Level III NICU at Elliot Hospital in Manchester.

Close to 500 community members and cancer survivors gathered at Elliot Hospital to walk in honor of patients, family members and friends, raising funds for patient care and supportive services at the Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot. Baby Osman is Healthy and Thriving After Receiving Care from Elliot Hospital


May 3, 2022 - Parents never want to need a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) when they are welcoming their new baby into the world. But for those who have a sick baby who needs care, Elliot Hospital’s NICU team is a welcome and comforting resource.

Throughout the state of New Hampshire, Elliot Hospital is only one of two facilities with specially trained providers who can treat preterm infants as early as 23 weeks gestation up through infants born after their due date. Elliot’s NICU treats babies who are transferred from other hospitals throughout the state—about two-thirds of the babies who are transported to Elliot Hospital are critically ill. Baby Osman was one of those young patients who needed help right away.

During the five days after a positive COVID-19 test result at the end of September 2021, 49-year-old Manchester resident, Rob Celeste said it felt like he had the flu.
