The Nursing Staff
The Nursing staff on the pediatric unit strives for quality nursing care with a family centered focus to give your child the best care possible. The team currently consists of 25 Registered Nurses with a combined total of over 500 years of experience! All of the RN’s are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), nearly half have specialty pediatric certification, and all are dedicated to educating themselves routinely to new advances in nursing practice. All of the RN’s also have special areas of interest or expertise to bring to the unit, such as diabetes, wound care, seizures, pain management, sickle-cell disease, emergency, asthma, immunizations, and autism as well as many other areas. We also are active in fostering future nurses that attend local colleges and technical schools, hosting clinical rotations, shadowing, and mentoring.
Our Interdisciplinary Team
Our interdisciplinary team of health care professionals also includes social workers, physical/occupational/speech therapists, phlebotomists, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, environmental services, and pastoral care to provide family-centered care to children and families.
