Whether you are soon to be a new parent or a growing family, Elliot Hospital Childbirth Education provides great programs to assist you to learn about pregnancy, birth and caring for your baby. Our Registered Nurses and Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) bring knowledge, compassion, and years of experience to your learning.
Our goal is to empower, educate and excite you! We invite you to learn from and ask questions of the nurses who will be working alongside your provider to care for you and your babies during your delivery experience. Classes are also a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with other parents within our community.
COVID 19 UPDATE: Our new parents and babies are of utmost importance to us. In an effort to keep our patients safe, Elliot Hospital is currently operating with a limited visitor policy. Although our in-person tours and classes are suspended, we encourage you to view our virtual tour and participate in our classes via Zoom.
Beginning in June 2022, we will be offering both virtual and in-person class options. Please note, there will be social distancing as much as possible throughout classes and at this time masking will be required in main hospital areas (entrance, hallways) but optional in the class conference room setting.

Learn to Labor: This class is taught by our certified childbirth educators who are also Registered Nurses within the Elliot Hospital Maternity Center. It is designed to help our patients prepare for their childbirth experience, and support partners prepare for their crucial role.
This class covers the following topics:
Learn to Care For and Feed Your Newborn: This class is taught by a Registered Nurse and is designed to prepare expectant parents on how to care for and feed their newborn during the first six weeks of life.
This class covers the following topics:
Feeding your newborn; breastfeeding benefits, milk production, latch, pumping, breast and self-care, and formula preparation.
Our classes fill up quickly so we recommend scheduling at around 24 along in your pregnancy. We suggest planning to take our classes within the 30-35 week timeframe of your pregnancy, although that is certainly up to you and we welcome you to join us at any time.

Please call within 30 days of your due date at (603) 663-5663 to pre-register anytime Monday-Friday 7 AM – 5 PM. Our staff will need your insurance information (so please have your card handy), as well as your due date and OB/GYN practice. In most cases this is a very brief 5-10 minute phone call.
