Elliot Hospital

The mission of The Elliot Level II Trauma Center is to provide immediate care and on-going intervention to patients suffering from a critical condition. It is very often the first contact a patient will have with Elliot Hospital after the sudden onset of serious illness or traumatic injury. The Level II Trauma Center team consists of specialists in nearly 20 disciplines that respond upon notification by EMS prior to the patient reaching the hospital. In consultation with the Emergency Department physician, first responders will begin procedures prior to arrival at the hospital. Other patients arrive for care as "walk-ins" or with the assistance of family or friends.
The Elliot Level II Trauma Center provides twenty-four hour a day critical care services to Manchester and surrounding areas. The Elliot therefore serves as a community resource and referral center for all regional trauma related cases and serves a vast number of patients. Approximately 1000 major trauma cases are seen each year. As a reflection of its size and depth of resources, the Elliot Trauma Center is verified by the state of American College of Surgeons as a Level II program.
Services provided by the Trauma Program are of the highest quality with a focus to provide superior care to our patients.
Our mission is to reduce trauma-related death and disability and to advance the knowledge base in trauma and critical care for the population we serve.
The Trauma Program at Elliot will provide a systems approach to ensure optimal care is provided to the injured patient. We will guide the patient through a seamless transition between each phase of care; integrating existing resources to deliver superior evidence based care and to achieve positive patient outcomes. The resources required for each component of trauma care will be clearly identified, implemented and evaluated to ensure all injured patients gain access to the appropriate level of care in a safe, timely and coordinated manner.
