Flexible Benefits Program

This program includes various options for comprehensive Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, Short Term Disability Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance and Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts. The amount you pay each pay period, if applicable, will be paid with pre-tax dollars before federal, state, and Social Security taxes are withheld. If enrolled, your coverage begins on the first day of the month following your date of hire.


Employee Pharmacy

Employees enrolled in an Elliot Health System (EHS) Medical Plan have the option of using the Employee Pharmacy to fill their prescription needs. Employees who are not enrolled in an EHS Medical Plan may have prescriptions filled for a price that is generally the same or less than commercial pharmacies. Over-the-counter medications are also available to employees at very attractive prices.


403(b) Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plan

If you work for a not-for-profit Elliot Health System employer, you may enroll immediately in this tax-favored savings program which offers you the advantage of saving money while deferring the payment of federal taxes until you begin receiving benefits.

EHS will make an annual employer contribution of up to 3% of your covered compensation to your 403(b) Plan account or a 403(b) Plan account in your name if you are not an active participant, upon meeting certain eligibility requirements. You become vested in this annual employer contribution after 5 years of qualifying service.


401(k) Retirement Savings Plan

If you work for an Elliot Health System for-profit employer, you may enroll immediately in this tax-favored savings program. This program offers you the advantage of saving money while deferring the payment of federal taxes until you begin receiving benefits.

Earned Time

Earned time is a system that combines traditional vacation, holiday, sick and personal days into one account for each employee. You may use earned time to receive pay for absences from work or may cash out certain balances. All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible to accrue earned time.


Holidays

There are six (6) major holidays observed by EHS, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.


Special Time Off

You are eligible for up to three (3) consecutive scheduled days of leave with full pay for death in your immediate family. If you are asked to serve on a jury, you will be paid the difference between the amount normally paid for your regularly scheduled hours and the pay you actually received from the court. Employees who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves will be excused for two weeks of annual training each year as well as for other mandatory training that may be periodically required. Employees will be paid for up to two weeks per calendar year while attending training.


Tuition Reimbursement

After satisfying an introductory waiting period, you are eligible to apply for reimbursement for courses related to your employment or those required while participating in a degree program offered by an accredited college or university. Once approved and having met satisfactory grade guidelines, you will be reimbursed from $2,500 to $3,500 (depending upon length of service) to cover tuition, registration fees, and lab fees.


Employee Assistance Program

You may take advantage of Elliot Health System's Employee Assistance Program for yourself and your dependents. This service is staffed by highly trained professional counselors who are available to help you and your family with personal problems that can affect your job performance.


Credit Union

You may join Triangle Credit Union and become eligible to apply for checking and savings accounts, vacation and holiday clubs, loans and mortgages.


Direct Deposit

You may sign up immediately for direct deposit and have your net pay electronically transmitted to the bank or other financial institution(s) of your choice.


Auto/Home Insurance

You may participate in a payroll deduction plan to pay for your automobile and/or homeowners insurance. Options are available from a few companies from which to choose.


Social Security

You are eligible for retirement, disability, and survivor benefits as defined by federal law.


Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Compensation

Elliot Health System provides Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Compensation as defined by state law.


Cafeteria

Cafeterias at the Elliot Hospital offer full menus. Prices are discounted for employees.


Supplemental Benefits

Other miscellaneous voluntary benefits include: Welliot Health Center (located in the Elliot Hospital), Adult Day Programs program, TaeKwonDo Center, bus passes, childbirth classes, Library resources, discounted movie tickets, nutritional counseling, rehabilitation services, notary public services, Verizon Wireless discounts, discounted Water Country tickets.


Elliot Child Care Center

The Elliot Child Care Center located on the campus of the Elliot Hospital offers children of Elliot employees the very best in childcare from newborns to kindergarteners. By respecting that each child is an individual, we encourage their individual development through engaging, age appropriate activities. We promote a partnership with children’s families and encourage parents to visit often and participate in their child’s classroom daily activities.
