About Kevin P Williams, MD

Kevin Williams, M.D., earned his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and his Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., after receiving a B.S. in biochemistry at American University in Washington, D.C., and a B.A. in psychology at Villanova University in Villanova, Penn.

Dr. Williams completed his internship and neurology residency at Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, before completing an epilepsy fellowship at Dartmouth University, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

In addition to meeting his wife in medical school, he solidified his passion for neurology.

“What I like the most are the connections I develop with people, especially after seeing a person for the fourth or fifth time, recognizing what’s going on in their life and the trust that the patient is putting in me that I hold very sacred,” he says. “Being able to treat them, and really improve not only just their disease but their quality of life, that is, by far, the most rewarding thing for me and what really gets me up in the morning.”

As a neurologist, Dr. Williams treats a wide variety of conditions and diseases, including seizures, vascular issues, neuromuscular disorders, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

He also has chosen to specialize in epilepsy, driven by his own experience with his grandmother, who had epilepsy.

“The most satisfying experience for me is being able to make a difference and seeing people who came in maybe scared about their condition and not having hope for the future and being able to give that to them,” Dr. Williams says. “That is incredibly powerful and very rewarding.”

When not at work, the favorite part of his day is decompressing with his wife and their cat. He also is passionate about music, collecting vinyl records, exploring new music genres and attending concerts and festivals.
