About Rachel Marie Morris Sessler, MD
Dr. Rachel Sessler, a board-certified pediatric doctor, is joining the staff at Elliot Pediatrics at Londonderry. Rachel grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, as an Ingram Scholar and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Medicine, Health, and Society. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She was a pediatric nurse at Duke University Hospital before making the decision to pursue a medical education. Dr. Sessler earned a Doctor of Medicine from University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In addition to her multiple publications and awards, Dr. Sessler was a co-founder of The Curbside Chronicle, a social enterprise magazine written and sold by the homeless population in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dr. Sessler is passionate about providing family-centered care and serving her community by maximizing the wellness and potential of each tiny patient. She is eager for the opportunity to build long-term relationships with families and watch kids grow up. She knew she wanted to work with kids even before she knew she wanted to be a doctor. According to Dr. Sessler, kids are “hilarious, honest, and just all-around refreshing. I love how often I’m asked about my favorite dinosaur at work!”
As she starts her new position at Elliot Pediatrics at Londonderry, she says she is looking forward to “providing excellent primary care to the kiddos and providing guidance, support, and reassurance to their amazing parents.”
When she is not working, Dr. Sessler enjoys movies, celebrating holidays, and a good podcast. Most of all, she loves being a kid again with her two little ones. Her Saturdays are jam-packed with making car-shaped waffles, playing with dinosaurs, and re-reading the Madeline books.
