About Sara C Graves, MD, MS

Dr. Graves is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon who cares for patients with fractures and other complex musculoskeletal injuries at the Elliot, a level II trauma center and also specializes in hip and knee replacement. A native of southern New Hampshire, she attended Smith College, where she ran cross country and track and spent time as an exchange student at Dartmouth College, before earning her medical degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She returned to New England for orthopaedic surgery residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and then completed fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

For the past 11 years, she has enjoyed practicing in a community setting and developing long-term relationships with the patients and families she serves. She believes strongly in helping patients understand their injury or condition and the options available to them, so that together they can make treatment decisions that best fit each patient’s individual needs, goals, and lifestyle. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying active through running, Nordic skiing, and cycling.
